Winter in Yosemite: Bride + Groom in Snowy Meadow

Winter in Yosemite is incredibly beautiful, and braving the snow is very worth it. This image was captured as the bride and groom kissed in the middle of a meadow near the Ahwahnee Hotel. Fog rose from the snow, creating a mystical, romantic, and ethereal black and white image.

During the winter months, Yosemite's valley is one of the most beautiful places you can take wedding photos. Valley roads are accessible and even though the upper country is closed, there's no shortage of places to explore. We drive around and walk short distances. My favorite spots to take photos in the snow are:

  • El Capitan Meadow
  • The Ahwahnee Hotel
  • Tunnel View
  • Valley View
  • Swinging Bridge
  • The Yosemite Chapel
  • Wawona

If you are a destination couple planning to spend several days in Yosemite, winter is a time with really fun family activities. Drive around and take photos from the comfort of your car, or bundle up and hike along the trails and boardwalks. Take a horse-drawn sleigh through Wawona, or go ice skating in Curry Village's outdoor ice rink. These experiences will make your wedding trip fun and memorable.
