Donnell Vista Elopement Portraits

This bride and groom planned on eloping in Yosemite National Park, until the Detwiler Fire derailed their plans. Part of the park was closed, and the smoky air was unsafe.

They hopped in their car and explored the area they live and fell in love with Donnell Vista. This area is famous for its mystery. Three people have disappeared from the area, their cars and belongings found in the parking lot abandoned. They were never found. It makes for an interesting backstory for your elopement!

Donnell Vista is in the Sierra Mountains, right off of Sonora Pass Highway near Strawberry. The closest main town is Sonora, at the base of the highway.

With it's sweeping mountainous landscapes, flowing river, and lush trees and plants, it's a very romantic and beautiful place to get married. There are endless places to choose from for your first look, ceremony, and portraits.

This location is beautiful year-round. In the winter, it's covered in a blanket or fluffy white snow. It's green in every season, and in the summer, you can escape the heat at this high-elevation.

Some of the spots that are covered in moss and thick with trees looks like a scene from Lord of the Rings. Any nature-lover or avid hiker would love this as an elopement location.
