Another gorgeous couple traveled across the country to get hitched in Yosemite! Chandler and Jaedy had a beautiful, romantic, and fun day. They kept it simple, just the two of them, and it was perfect.

The couple stayed in Wawona, right next to the river, and this was the view from their cabin. I asked if we could do the First Look there, and Chandler said that’s exactly what they’d already decided. It was perfection.

I am in love with this elegant, all-white bouquet, by Events22! It’s super easy for our brides to order their flowers from anywhere in the world. The bride sends us a Pinterest board, and Michelle consults with them, then designs a custom bouquet based on their likes and needs. She nails it every time!

I fell in love with Wawona this day. This is such an epic, very “Yosemite” view, with rolling hills of pine trees. As they were walking out to this spot, Jaedy said, “Awww, babe… This is the most you’ve hiked since we’ve been together!”

“Oh, there’s an ant… there’s another one… OH MY GOD THEY’RE EVERYWHERE!!!” Right after I took these few shots, my poor clients got attacked by ants. I shouted for them to get out of there, and we all ran to the car, which was just a few yards away. Jaedy threw off his jacket, and I frantically started wiping the ants away, while Lindsey worked on Chandler. There had to be hundreds of them. It was unbelievable! Poor Chandler had ants all through the layers and lace of her gorgeous gown, so we picked them out. Throughout the day, we kept finding little stow-aways.

Then it was off to Bridalveil Falls! I’m so in love with this area, and I’m glad I’ve been able to shoot there several times this year. This is the next huge restoration project for the park. Soon they will rip up the parking lot and pathways, and I’ll have to wait two years before I can shoot there again.

Chandler found her gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown at a sample sale, and her talented seamstress altered it to fit her perfectly. It was originally strapless, and she definitely wanted some sort of sleeve. They added these soft, feminine drape sleeves. I love it because it’s very flattering on her and the dress is unique!

They chose to do their ceremony in El Capitan Meadow, and it was so majestic, with El Capitan as their witness! Lindsey performed a beautiful, simple ceremony, which the couple loved.

I think Jaedy was really excited…

I encourage all of our brides to wear comfortable shoes, whether it’s pretty leather lace-up boots, hiking boots, or fancy tennies. It’s important that your feet stay clean and dry.

I love shooting instant film at weddings, and I always give one to the couple so they can peel it themselves. They are always amazed, and it’s so much fun.
