Katie and Don were all smiles, grinning ear to ear on their wedding day. They are best friends, laughing together and supporting each other daily. Their first “date” was actually a class assignment to go to the museum. They both spent quite a bit of time agonizing over what to wear to this trip to the museum, so it was definitely a date. They finished the actual assignment in about 15 minutes, and both started to panic a bit. Then Katie said, “You wanna go check out the dinosaurs?” They spent the next several hours goofing off around the museum and making up stories about extinct birds.

What does Don love about Katie?

“When I first saw Katie at Bootlegger’s Bar, I remember thinking that she was totally out of my league.  To my surprise, after we were introduced, she responded to my messages on Facebook and actually wanted to hang out. I love about her now the same as I did when we first met, and that is that she is so sweet and easy to be with because from when we first met to now, we have just always clicked; we have always brought out the best in each other; we have always been meant to be together.”

Tourists get VERY excited when they see a bride and groom! At first I didn’t really get this, but when Mark and I were in Hawaii, we saw a few couples getting wedding photos done on the beach. Like a child, I shouted, “Mark look! They’re getting their wedding pictures done! Now I know how people in Yosemite feel. This IS exciting!”

When a tourist photo bombs you.

And then the wind started blowing and Katie stretched her arms out and said, “Jack! Jack I’m flying!!!”

What does Katie love about Don?

“The first thing that attracted me to Don was his sense of humor and how easy he was to talk to. Within days of meeting we already had silly inside jokes, and anytime I was talking to him I was always smiling and laughing. In the words of my roommate at the time, I was ‘smitten.’ To this day, its one of the things I love the most about him. He loves me for exactly who I am. He loves every bit of crazy, goofy, weird, and sometimes slightly neurotic that I am. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ll do/say something, look at Don and realize how ridiculous I look/sound and say ‘I’m so glad you don’t think I’m weird.’ He is one of the only people in this world that I feel truly knows the real me.”
