Where to Stay in Yosemite

Where to Stay in Yosemite

For those of you getting married in Yosemite and trying to plan, I've collected some lodging info for you.  Here are a few places where we've personally stayed:

Half Dome Village (Curry Village) $

When we stay in Yosemite, we usually stay in a tent cabin at Half Dome Village.  Some of the tent cabins have heaters, so be sure to look at that while booking.  Tent cabins share a community bathroom, which also has showers.  Half Dome Village also has cute tiny cabins that will give you the woodsy atmosphere with more sturdy walls.  They have larger cabins with bathrooms as well.

Big Trees Lodge (Wawona Hotel) $$

We love staying at Big Trees Lodge when we vacation in Yosemite and want something fancier than Half Dome Village.  You can book rooms with private bath or shared bath.  This hotel is so old, it still has shared baths!  It’s a quaint place with gorgeous buildings and beautiful rooms.  You definitely feel like you’ve been transported back in time.  The lobby has a fire place and couches which are very comfortable.  When we stay there, we go down to the fire place and drink our wine.

The Majestic Yosemite Hotel (Ahwahnee Hotel) $$$

If you want the luxury Yosemite experience, The Majestic Yosemite Hotel is for you.  Their rooms are quite pricy, but their penthouse suite is large enough for a small wedding reception, around 40 people.  You can book their restaurant/ballroom for a large wedding reception.  They have huge, gorgeous fireplaces in the lobby, surrounded by comfy couches and chairs.  If you want drinks and an appetizer, we suggest their café, as the prices are better than the full restaurant.
