This is one of my favorite candid photos I took at Mettler Family Vineyards in Lodi, California. The bride's mother and maid of honor helps her put on her dress while her bridesmaid watches. I love how black and white film makes a candid shot look so classic and timeless.
This small winery is perfect for an intimate spring, summer, or early fall wedding. The ceremony space is under a big, beautiful oak tree, in front of the pond with a fountain.
We did the bride and groom's portraits on the dock of the pond and in the vineyards. The light that day was quite beautiful, as you can see in the blog.
The reception was in a beautiful landscaped square with trees and flowers. The guests enjoyed delicious food and cupcakes by Lila & Sage from Murphy's. Then they danced the night away to the fantastic music by Sounds in Motion from Modesto. This was definitely a Central Valley affair.
I love candid wedding photography best because it tells the story of the day. When the bride and groom get their wedding album they will see a cohesive story of the day they started their lives together. If all the pictures were posed portraits, no one would be able to tell what happened that day. Natural documentary photography is a way to preserve all those precious memories.
