Jensen Botanical Gardens in Carmichael, California is a wonderful location for wedding portraits if you're getting married around the Sacramento area. The park is full of beautiful plants, trees, and flowers, including many varieties of Magnolias and Dogwoods, Japanese Maples and thousands of Tulips.
Most plants are labeled with the name and information, which is wonderful for teaching kids about nature.
When Charles C. Jensen and his wife retired from the produce business in 1958, they started their amazing new project, botanical gardens in Carmichael. They brought in truckloads of plants from Oakland, and spent years grafting, hybridizing, and acquiring new plants.
There are regular events in the park, including open-air concerts and farmers markets.
Weddings are limited to 50 and a photography permit is required. They're open 8am to dusk daily.
For more information and details regarding renting the gardens for your wedding ceremony and/or portraits, check out their Information Page.
In my opinion, this venue is perfect for a simple elopement.

I absolutely loved taking wedding photos with a bride and groom in the park. There was no shortage of beautiful landscape, texture, color, and outstanding beauty. The landscaping is impeccable and the grounds are perfectly clean. It's easy to get to and close to restaurants and gas stations.
