My favorite time to photograph weddings in Yosemite is the fall because of the amazing trees turning gold, red, and orange, as well as the beautiful light. I had the bride and groom walk through the meadow together and have a conversation because I wanted a natural pose.
Eloping in Yosemite is incredibly romantic. You're outdoors, close to nature. When I'm there, I feel closer to God and in awe of his creation. When you get married there, you are guaranteed beautiful pictures because everywhere you turn, there is a beautiful backdrop with amazing colors and textures.
Because so many wedding photographers work in Yosemite, I try hard to shoot in a unique way. I love high contrast and harsh light. I also love to incorporate the trees, plants, and flowers that reside in the park because it gives the photos another layer of time and place. In this photo, it's clear that it's autumn in the afternoon in Yosemite's valley.
