Cathedral Beach Yosemite Elopement Picture

Cathedral Beach in Yosmite is a beautiful place for an elopement.  It's next to the river and there's actual sand because Yosemite is all granite.  It's very surreal, feeling like you're at the ocean in the middle of the woods. El Capitan is in view, and Sentinal Beach is nearby.

The best time to get married in Yosemite is in the mid morning, around 10am. This is the best way to ensure your ceremony won't be interrupted by tourists, and there will be less people to interfere with your wedding photos.  This elopement was in September, and the weather was perfect--sunny with a slight chilly breeze.  There's nothing like getting hitched among that kind of majestic beauty, breathing the clean, crisp air, birds tweeting in the background.

After a few family photos, we took some portraits in front of these tall redwood trees, which are very indigenous of the park.  I love incorporating the trees and plants in the park because it gives the pictures another layer.  When we were done here, we explored the park and took photos in the meadows, behind the wedding chapel, at Swinging Bridge, and next to the Majestic Yosemite Hotel.

There are unlimited photo opportunities in the park.  Regardless of the time of year or the weather, there's always something amazing to use as a backdrop.  Imagine having prints from the most beautiful iconic, beautiful place in california hanging in your home.
